Five simple tips for mobile friendly emails.
Number one be as concise as possible in both design and content. Have a clear message. Screen real estate is very valuable on mobile. So keep the design very clean and simple and focus on the essential.
Number two use a single column template. You don’t want readers to have to zoom in on their smart phones to see your email. Make it easy for them to read and navigate the content of your email with a single column template.
Number three use a single clear call to action. Tell your readers what you want them to do and make it really easy for them to do so. Want them to visit your website, or buy now? Make sure that link, or button is easy to find and click with a finger.
Number four avoid tiny fonts. For body text use a minimum size of 11 point font and for headlines 22 point font. We also recommend using a strong contrast of colours like dark text on a light background.
Number Five take it easy on images. Only use the images that are essential to your email. Always preview your email and make sure it still looks great even if none of the images are displayed. Look great everywhere.
A little work on your email design can go a long way to make sure your emails look great no matter where people are reading them.
